Plan a road trip to Central Oregon where the scenery and side trips can be an adventure all on their own. If you choose to drive into Redmond via Hwy 97 from the North or South or Hwy 126 from the East or West, they are both some of the most scenic routes in the state of Oregon. Redmond is only 2.5 hours from Portland, Oregon and only 3 hours from the California border.
Flying into Redmond’s Municipal Airport, Central Oregon’s only commercial airport, puts you just minutes from the towns of Redmond and Bend, Oregon. Located on the southeastern edge of Redmond’s city limits, the airport is approximately 16 miles north of Bend, 20 miles east of Sisters, 24 miles west of Prineville and 27 miles south of Madras. Its strategic location in the center of the region’s natural beauty and recreation makes it the perfect starting point for your Central Oregon adventure.
Once on the ground, the airport is home to full-service car rental agencies, each offering a wide array of car rental options, including larger multi-passenger vehicles, and fully equipped 4WD sport utility models to help you get to your final destination. There are also a number of taxi, shuttle and ride share services to select from as well.
