Tam Bronkey, Director of Instruction

Tam Bronkey has been providing quality golf instruction for nearly 20 years. Prior to arriving at Eagle Crest Resort, Tam worked in the Southern California Section of the PGA. Tam’s students enjoy his friendly approach, use of state-of-the-art motion analysis video technology, and comprehensive teaching style.

Tam is an accomplished player as a graduate of and former University of Oregon varsity team member, a current course record holder at two courses (Harbor Links Golf Club 63 and Shield Crest Golf Club 64), and player on the PGA Tour as a qualifier in the Northern Trust L.A. Open in 2001. His low tournament round is 64 in a PGA Southern California Section event in 2004. In 2008 Tam captured the Crosswater Invitational with Eagle Crest’s Ron Buerger as his partner. Tam keeps a busy instructional schedule as he works with both local students and golfers that visit Eagle Crest Resort. Whether a beginner or advanced player, Tam takes your golfing improvement personally and has lesson programs available to benefit all golfers.

Ron Buerger, PGA Director of Golf

Ron Buerger has been helping Central Oregon golfers improve their game for the past 20-plus years and continues to be one of the most sought-after instructors in Central Oregon. Ron’s students enjoy his personable approach and his emphasis on keeping golf instruction simple. Originally from San Diego, Ron started at Eagle Crest in 1991 as an Assistant Professional. In 2007 Ron became Eagle Crest Resort’s PGA Director of Golf. Though he oversees the entire golf operation at Eagle Crest, Ron continues to keep an active instructional schedule as he teaches credit classes for Central Oregon Community College and works with many students at the Resort. Ron also serves as the Men’s Head Golf Coach at Redmond High School and led the 6A team to a 2nd place ­finish at the OSAA State Tournament in 2008. Ron has won numerous professional events over the years including the 2008 Crosswater Invitational with Eagle Crest’s Tam Bronkey as his partner. Ron is eager to use his instructional expertise and well-rounded approach to help all golfers with every aspect of their game.

Kevin Story: Assistant Professional and PGA Apprentice

Kevin has been with Eagle Crest Resort for three years as the Golf Group Coordinator and is currently working towards his Class A PGA Membership. Originally from Prineville, Kevin developed into an accomplished junior player and earned a scholarship to play at the collegiate level at Treasure Valley C.C. in Ontario, Oregon. Kevin’s low tournament round is 67 and he has a low career round of 65. Kevin has an easy to understand instructional style with a relaxed approach. As a PGA Apprentice, Kevin’s lesson rates are 20% off the Resort’s listed rates.
