The Pole Pedal Paddle is a relay race, with six legs that include alpine skiing/snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biking, running, canoe/kayaking and sprinting to the finish. You can do it all yourself or be part of team (or pair). We invite you to take part in the festivities and enjoy Central Oregon.
Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports amateur alpine, cross country, snowboard, and cycling training for junior athletes. Our main objective is to assist junior athletes in achieving their individual athletic, academic, and personal goals.
The program’s guiding philosophy is to encourage academic achievement and promote the positive values of competitive sport: sportsmanship, self-discipline, goal setting, character building, and the pursuit of healthy lifetime activities.
MBSEF would like to thank everyone who makes this event possible. This includes the athletes, sponsors, volunteers, and the City & citizens of Bend, Oregon.
MBSEF’s mission is to be the Northwest’s leading youth sports training organization promoting the positive values of competitive sports including Alpine, Nordic Skiing, Snowboarding and Cycling.
Central Oregon has one of the largest per-capita number of breweries of any region around, so it’s only natural the region have a Central Oregon Beer Week, a week-long celebration of Bend and Central Oregon’s amazing beer culture! The final details for the week are being prepared and will be published soon.
2015 BITE OF BEND
CENTRAL OREGON’S LARGEST FOOD FESTIVAL!
Celebrate the local flavor of Central Oregon during the region’s largest food festival. The Bite of Bend is a two-day food party on the streets of downtown Bend!
2014 Bite of Bend Highlights:
- THE BITE. Bring your appetite and feast on small plates ($1-$2 each) and libations from the best restaurants in the region.
- TOP CHEF COMPETITION. Watch eight rock-star chefs knock each other out in a live kitchen battle.
- BEER RUN. Run a 5k the Central Oregon way, with craft beer breaks!
- BITE WEEK. Explore your culinary side with experiential classes, demos and chefs’ dinners all week,
The Bite of Bend also brings Locavore Alley full of local artisans and purveyors sure to inspire your home kitchen with fresh ingredients and new tools. Live music and kids’ activities, too!
The weekend entertainment at the Bite of Bend includes local and national musical acts performing on the Main Stage on Oregon Avenue in downtown Bend. The music at the Bite of Bend has long been one of the biggest free music events of the summer, and this year’s lineup promises to be one of the most exciting yet. Get ready to get down with a mix of bluegrass, country, indie, and American roots bands from around the country.
Bend Farmers Market is blossoming into one of Oregon’s leading farm–direct marketplaces, bringing together growers and producers with people who hunger for fresh, local, healthful foods and agricultural goods. The Market occurs once a week downtown in the Brooks Street Alley-way behind the Tower Theater. We’ve also continued to reach out to the community as the first farmers market in Oregon to launch a Farm to School program.
Three days of craft beer bliss on the banks of the Deschutes River!
The 12th Annual Bend Brewfest quenches Bend’s thirst for fine craft brews with over 170 beers and ciders from 60 breweries and 10 cideries. The 2015 festival will be held at the Les Schwab Amphitheater on Thursday, August 13, noon to 11 PM, Friday, August 14, noon – 11 PM, and Saturday, August 15 from noon-11 pm. Ridiculously good craft beer on the banks on the Deschutes River in Bend, Oregon. You should come.
The legendary Halloween Cyclocross Crusade race is back for the third year, and will again take place at Deschutes Brewery in the Old Mill District.
Witness the fun and mayhem of over 1,000 cyclocross racers donning costumes and competing for Cross Crusade points. In addition to two days of epic racing, attendees will enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the Deschutes Brewery beer garden, live music, and cultural food and festivities.
